I thought my first trip to a German grocery store had gone well. Until I got home and opened the foil packet I bought which (I thought) contained cheese.
The smell was overpowering - like rotten wine. And the color was a dull, gummy grey. Needless to say, it was not cheese.
I asked Zuzana about it when she got home, and she took one look and started laughing at me. Apparently I had never seen European yeast.
